Price comparison

What a tax advisor can charge for it.What you pay when you do it yourself.

Ongoing bookkeeping, annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and the yearly tax returns of your UG or GmbH: each item a tax advisor bills for this is included in the Pluto price. Your price follows your company's figures, using the same logic as the statutory fee schedule for German tax advisors (StBVV). Enter your numbers and see line by line what the fee schedule provides for a tax advisor and what you pay.

Revenue and other income for the year, net.

That's all it takes. Whether notes to the financial statements are added follows from the size thresholds of §§ 267, 267a HGB.

The comparison covers the fee items of §§ 33, 35 and 24 StBVV for the obligations shown (tables A to C, valid since 1 July 2025). Not included: advice (§ 21), review of tax assessments (§ 28), payroll with employees (§ 34), legal remedies (§ 40). Under § 4 StBVV, tax advisors may agree a higher or lower fee.

How your price is calculated

The fee schedule

The German tax advisors' fee regulation (StBVV) sets a value in dispute for the activities shown here, such as your revenue for bookkeeping or the average of balance sheet total and annual output for the financial statements. A table gives the full fee, and a range gives the rate.

The average fee is considered the usual starting point for an average engagement. That's what you see above.

Our price table

Pluto uses the same logic and the same values in dispute. Our price table is derived from the StBVV tables as of 1 July 2025.

If the legislator changes the fee schedule, your price does not change on its own. A new table only applies from the next term, with notice and a right to cancel.

Recalculated every year

In January, Pluto calculates your price from the previous year's booked figures. If the company grows, the price rises; if it shrinks, the price falls. Newly founded companies pay the minimum price in the first year; existing ones enter their previous year's figures during setup.

You see the calculation line by line in the app, with value in dispute and section, just as the fee schedule requires of tax advisors.

Frequently asked questions about pricing

Why does the price depend on revenue, balance sheet total and profit?+

Because the tax advisors' fee schedule calculates the same way. An honest comparison has to use the same figures. Enter your numbers above to see your price.

What if my numbers aren't known yet in the first year?+

Newly founded companies pay the minimum price of €299 net per year in the first year. Existing companies enter the previous year's revenue, balance sheet total and profit during setup. From the first January with a booked previous year in Pluto, the booked figures apply. There is no retroactive recalculation for the first year.

I already have a tax advisor. How do I compare correctly?+

Take your last annual invoice, net, and put it next to the "Per year" line. The statutory average fee above is the usual starting point; your invoice may be higher or lower. You can export your bookings as CSV and take them with you at any time.

What is not included in the comparison?+

Advice, review of tax assessments, payroll for employees and representation in objection or audit proceedings. The fee schedule has separate items for these, and a tax advisor remains the right contact for them. Pluto is not built for these cases.

Do I still need a tax advisor?+

No law requires a UG or GmbH to hire a tax advisor. Management is responsible for bookkeeping and returns, with or without an advisor. With Pluto you prepare your bookkeeping, financial statements and returns yourself and submit them yourself. For cross-border matters, restructurings or tax audits, you bring in a tax advisor.

How much is the monthly cancellable plan?+

One tenth of the annual price per month. If you commit for a year, you pay two months less.

What applies to early access members?+

Early access members keep their price of €29.90 net per month, regardless of how their numbers develop, as long as their subscription runs without interruption.
