Myth: “I don’t pay any taxes in the first year.”
Short answer
False. Your company pays certain taxes starting from the first month, while others come later—often hitting twice as hard.
Key points
You report and pay VAT on an ongoing basis, monthly or quarterly. The tax office can also set advance payments for corporate income tax and trade tax as early as the first year, based on the estimates in your tax registration questionnaire. In the second year, the back payment for the first year and the advance payments for the current year often arrive at the same time.
Rule of thumb: Set aside money for taxes from the very beginning.
